MARK PEDDLE
Mark is a South African art director and photographer. Having worked in retail for years (establishing the popular Mr Price Sport brand in South Africa, and working on the country’s largest retail brand, Pep) he decided to go freelance and pursue his love of photography.
With a keen eye for detail and a passion for travel, nature and the outdoors, Mark quickly proved himself an exemplary travel photographer, having his photos published in the national Sunday newspaper, the Sunday Times, within months of becoming a full-time photographer, and frequently publishing interiors with Dunhill magazine. Mark’s only brother was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at 11, so he has grown up alongside the condition and is well aware of the intricacies of living with diabetes. He is also aware that there is no reason for diabetes to stand in the way of living a full and active life.
Five quick questions with Mark:
1. What's your favourite thing to do?
Taking photos that try to capture the moment or object as it is perceived… to capture the truth of something on film.
2. What are you most excited about for this trip?
The wide range of people and cultures that we will get to experience. And being able to share a little South African warmth with them!
3. If you had to choose one food to eat forever, what would it be?
It’s probably not the healthiest choice, but chocolate! Washed down by coffee.
4. Where have you always wanted to travel?
I’ve been wanting to go to Argentina for years, I think as a country it will be one of the highlights of the trip. However, there are a couple of cities like Hong Kong, Barcelona and Ankara that are going to be fascinating to explore.
