The
Park Hyatt, Melbourne
I chose to stay at The Park Hyatt in Melbourne’s historic center. For the business traveler it is conveniently located near the Central Business District (CBD), as well as a subway stop and within walking distance of the free City Circle Tram, an antique version of the very efficient pay-as-you-go tram system that dissects the city at every major intersection, soft as a whisper, frequent, and providing seamless travel throughout the city... read

Taj BLUE,
Sydney
As a home base, I chose the BLUE Sydney, primarily since it just celebrated
its
one year
anniversary, having recently changed hands from the ‘W’, a Starwood Group,
to Taj, under the genteel auspices of General Manager Kottarapurath Mohanchandran
(‘Mohan’ for short), whose last posting was Udaipur, where he served as GM

the ‘New Hilton’ in its embrace of sleek lines and minimalist décor,
interspersed with traditional Maori artistic accents. There is a sense of being
in the presidential cabin of a luxury international cruise liner and its proximity
to the harbor, with cruise ships arriving and departing below your terrace, adds
to that feeling... read more

Langham Hotel, Auckland
There is a distinction between business and leisure travel, but the distinction should not
be that the latter is pleasurable and the former a
chore. The difference should be that a property that caters to business
travelers should, in addition to great service and elegant surroundings,
have top-notch business services as well. A desk, a fax machine, two
land-lines, and wireless internet in the room is a good start. The Langham Hotel
takes it one step further...
